Yeah I’m a little behind, but I’d like to take a second to make a post concerning the passing of Atsushi Kuroi. This guy’s extreme talent was enough to nearly make me pull my hair out. I would’ve loved to have seen him perform in that monster of a car he drove before he left. Rest in peace, thoughts and prayers to you, your friends and loved ones. Sayounara.
Things to look forward to…

Event wise, here are things this year that I’m looking forward to:
1.) SED Pants On The Ground drift comp February (this month) 27, Saturday

2.) Import Alliance ATL, April 11th Sunday

3.) S2000 Club of America S2K Days national meet in Asheville, August 5-8 (Thursday-Sunday)

4.) 13th Annual ALMS Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta, September 29-October 2 (Wednesday-Saturday)

Not to mention the monthly Varsity meets that are held here in Atlanta and also smaller local meets, which are every Tuesday.
Anyhow, that’s my event calendar so far.

Thank you ASM Yokohama for providing so much inspiration. Your garage is at the forefront of the S2000 tuning realm and will continue to give me ideas about what I want to do with my AP1 (yes I do have one, just neglected to put pictures of it up ~ sorry!). Amuse, J’s, Spoon, and Toda are incredibly influential in my tastes as well, but ASM is definitely at the pinnacle of what I think the archetype S2000 should be.
So there’s something I’ve been thinking about getting into. Well, I want to and it’s very appealing and seems really enjoyable. Been wanting to get into making electronic music. I’m talking about beat software, sample machines, mixers, tables, etc. Not really limited to one style of it either. I love eurobeat, goth/industrial, hiphop, and really anything that has a good feel to it. So I’d probably come up with some kind of hybrid of all that shit. Got a demo of Fruity Loops and going to start learning how to use it. Gave it a try a long time ago and tossed it because I didn’t have the patience. But I’m pretty stoked and willing to learn now. Been pricing sampling machines too and looking at keyboards and tables. I think it’d be fucking tight to get good enough to play at parties (on whatever scale) and shit like that.
Check this video out, this guy gets me stoked and provides inspiration:
My main inspiration for dub style is definitely Nujabes, Fat Jon, and Tsuchie. Those dudes are so fucking good at what they do.
That’s my random shit for the time being.
Until next time…
Yes, turn up your speakers is right.

Been really, really sick the past couple days. Got a stomach virus. My brother brought it home with him from a hockey tournament and everyone except my mom has been down with it, now including me. Think of the worst stomach virus and then add in extreme pressure in the nasal cavity area, whole body being sore, weak, and neck stiff as hell. That’s it basically. Not even sure how I’m typing this. Originally thought it was a bitchin’ hangover……until it lasted more than a whole day.
Anyhow, here is a video that I really like…Samurai Champloo compilation with a song from Me And Him Call It Us (local band, RIP).
Enjoy,
Just went on ASM’s blog and found this on their latest post. One of the most beautiful pictures I have seen. Maybe I can send my S to them someday and turn it into the beast you see here…

(this is not my picture, credit to ASM Yokohama)
Going to the city tonight so I’ll take my camera and make a post of my outing and put some pictures of the car up since I haven’t done that.
Have a good evening and to all my fellow ATLiens, GET OUTSIDE FOR A WHILE AND ENJOY THE GOOD WEATHER WHILE IT’S HERE!!!!!!!
I’ve got a soft spot for goth/industrial. Drown out to this shit with me.
NIN – “The Hand That Feeds”
Peter Murphy with Trent Reznor and Jeordie White – “Reptile”
Justin K. Broadrick – “Hym” (from ISIS’ “Remixes & Reinterpretations”…The original recording of this song by ISIS on “Oceanic” is fucking amazing)

In the mood to rant, so here goes.
Going to be a long day today. They just keep getting longer, makes them seem like they all run together. Open-close with no business. Counting the minutes with the clock.
I need to start doing something aside from my job to make extra money while I’m not in school. Going back this semester didn’t work out so free time is abundant. I need an air compressor so I can maybe do some car work on the weekends/off-days. I got everything I need really except for that. Air tools, check. A set of spring compressors would help for sure, I’d prefer to start off with suspension work as I don’t have an engine stand or even a hoist of any kind. Also, the AP1 (named her Kyoko) needs new tires soon and maybe some wheels. Going to need a new driver’s seat before the first half of the year ends. It’s starting to rip on the bottom part where the driver’s legs rest. Thinking about going with a red Bride, keep the stock feel with the same colorway as the rest of the interior.
Been watching JDM Insider a lot the past couple days. Sure, it’s not new stuff at all but you can still get something out of it, same applies to BMI, etc. I really respect Ueno Takahiro after the interview Hiro had with him.
Been really discontent and somewhat irritable lately. Just bored of everything. Not getting into school for spring semester has a lot to do with it. Took a early day trip to Savannah last weekend. For those of you who don’t know, it’s a town located on the only part of the state that touches water. It was nice, got to visit the beach for a while and see the sun wake up, despite the fact it was frigid. Just nice to be in a different, more serene environment even if it was just for a couple hours. I want to go to the mountains soon too. Probably going to save that trip for warmer weather so I can cruise up there with the top down. The mountains are peaceful as well, it’s easy to collect myself and feel whole when I visit places like that. The type of contentment that money can’t buy in today’s world.
Time for lunch. さようなら。
