Killa bideo

29 Oct 2009

0-400 clips slow motion:

My cohort sent me the link to this video earlier today. Very very awesome video. I love watching the awd cars tear it up, all four tires just clawing at the pavement. The white EVO (I believe it is a IV, correct me if wrong) and black R32 in the beginning are my favourites. The gunmetal R32 rules too, you can see the whole rear-end just slam down once he punches it.

Enjoy!

So tonight I went to the local package store in search of a new beer to try. It is the first time I have done this in quite some time and it took me a good 20 minutes at least to select my pick, which is typical of me. I purchased a pint.6 of Erdinger Hefe-Weizen Dunkel and a pint.6 of Sapporo Reserve. Hefes are one of my favourites and I like dark brews so I knew when I saw it that it was a must. I believe it was priced at $2.29. Sapporo is, from what I have heard, pretty similar to American style lagers but I still want to give it a try.

Tonight I am drinking the hefe and so far I really like it a lot. It has a typical hefe taste but with the heaviness characteristic of dark beers. The initial taste when you have a swig of it is somewhat stereotypical of the hefes I have had. When it is swallowed after you let it sit for a moment, it is smooth and the aftertaste is nice. Definitely one of my favourites selections I have made in a long time. The a.b.v. is 9% and it is pretty obvious after you have about half of the bottle’s amount. The color is that of really dark coffee. Not type of dark that Guinness is known for, but different because the depth the color has to it.

Welp time to chill with a homie and smoke a cigar. Maybe it will pair well with this hefe.

Truth In 24

13 Oct 2009

Last night I watched the best documentary that I have seen to date. “Truth In 24″. I love (and favour) Japanese auto culture/tuning/vehicles more than any other, but on the same token I also love racing. Well, mainly just open-wheel and road events. So with that, preference of manufacturers and the nationality of drivers and/or machines is cancelled out. Watching races and having been to a couple so far is awesome. Never did I actually know what really went into the preparation, the event itself, and the pain and hardships that goes into it until I watched this film. And there is no better team to document that than the most meticulous and dedicated of them all, especially coming from one of the most revered races on the whole planet. In particular, the 2008 24 Heures is the subject of documentation here – the battle between Audi’s older TDI machine and Peugot’s newer rivaling machine.  The film was extremely thorough, detailed, intense, and raw – everything that I treasure when it comes to motorsports. And to see that captured in such a presentation as this is simply amazing. To see the side that you do not get to see while watching the race in person behind the wall or on a television screen utterly changes your perspective. You get a true sense of the toll that the 24 Hours of Le Mans takes on every person that is involved in it. But you also get to see how awesomely rewarding it is. And since watching this film last night, my whole outlook on racing and the passion behind motorsports has transformed. If you are a nut about racing then I highly, highly suggest you find a way to watch this. Very well worth the hour and a half that I spent watching it. Hell, I may watch it again tonight.

Other than that, I accomplished a lot today. Took the necessary steps to ensure that I will be going back to school come January. Also did some other things on my to-do list. Finished the day off perfectly with smoking a great cigar (Perdomo Lot 23) while hanging with a couple of my good friends.

Also, make sure to check out Subaru’s GT300 Legacy. That is one mean machine!

That is it folks, Happy Motoring and good night!

Waching “Truth In 24″ tonight..pumped as hell about that!

Personal note: Also catching up with one of my cousins that lives in FL through messaging. Crazy how much in common we have and how close we feel even though I have only really met her once. Family is important!

Drinking some good coffee and smoking some American Spirits enjoying the weather outside. Very relaxing. Looks like I will be going back to school starting January too, so that is something that is exciting me. Also I have a really good job lined up too. Things just keep getting better. Well, I will write about this documentary tomorrow after I watch it tonight.

Happy Motoring!

PS: I hope to be at this meet next year, I missed it because I have been so out of the loop lately.

Damn, I watched the last 20 minutes of the race at Laguna Seca earlier and that was some of the most intense battling I have seen. Really wish I could have been there to see that race in person. The GT2 battle had me at the edge of my seat.

Also the Brazillian GP in Sao Paolo is this coming weekend. Practice sessions friday, practice/qualifying saturday, and race on sunday.

Yes, behold!

I cannot wait until this young man named Luke (who also runs Hashiriya Exports/Running Life) is able to release this documentary. The feel of the footage on each of the trailers has definitely left me wanting the final product for sure. He is doing a perfect job on it! Great video quality and the mood that the composition brings is really just awesome. Please check out this trailer as well as the other few that he has.

Happy motoring!

Had a pretty decent day..anxiety filled because of this job offer, but it evened out for sure.

Smoked an Oliva Connecticut Reserve 7″x50 this after noon..

It was a really nice, smooth stogie and the draw was just perfect for my liking. Definitely going to get another. I hope the roll quality is consistent with them like Padron. Then I smoked a Sancho Panza Double Maduro (not sure about the size for this one). They are alright, I will complain that the caps are pretty easy to mess up and the draw is not as easy as I prefer my smokes to be. I cannot really complain about the price though.

Other than that, it looks like things are going to be lookin up for me really soon. Really happy about that.

Evening to all.
