iputinwork…for real

My buddy sent me this website, maybe some of you know about it. But it’s a pretty rad page about Work Wheels. I highly suggest taking a look at it. On to other news, I’m still trying to iron out the kinks in getting the S, but I should (hopefully) have it by the end of the week. We’ll see how it goes though. Just a matter of time. It’s been a pretty difficult process. Paperwork has been screwed up and so has shipping info. But it’s going. Like I said, just a matter of time. Apart from it being one of my most wanted cars, I’m really just excited about having my own vehicle again.
Welp that’s that. Enjoy the site. Sorry I do not post as often as I’d like. Been busy as hell with work. Going to try to make more posts though. Going to leave you with a pic of a honey.

Next mp3 player..

Been looking at options for my next mp3 player. The ones I have my eye on are:
Zune HD

Samsung YP-P3

I also like the iRiver E100, but I want more space because I like to upload dvds and the screen is smaller than the above two options. My first gen Zune is awesome and I have had it for 2 years now. No problems, no complaints, and it has never crashed on me. I just want something newer with a bigger screen, preferrably touchscreen and something thinner. I like the HD because it has so many amazing features and the screen rules. Plus it has the internet browser. But the P3 has Bluetooth headphone capability and you can make calls from it without even touching your phone. Also, Samsung devices are known for their great sound quality. Another that is really appealing to me is the Sony Walkman X-Series. But I am really leaning toward the HD or the P3. Thoughts or other suggestions? Open to anything (obviously I do not care for iPods, so save comments about them).
Other news, started my new job this week. In training at the moment but it is good. Got a positive feeling about it.

Well, I got to see what the publishing companies have been up to the past month. Went to a bookstore and checked out some of the magazines. Got to say I was not really impressed at all. Most of the cars were nothing special in my opinion. Only thing I found good was Super Street’s article on sizing up turbos and picking out the right size for any given application. Now, I did NOT read every magazine in detail – front to back – but I usually look at the contents and see if there is anything interesting. I thumbed through them but I cannot say I saw that much. The only car features that got my attention were the Evolution GT Wagon and the Amemiya Genki 7 (duh!). Saw an article on PE’s quad charge setup for the GTR, but that is not too terribly new.
It is just my opinion, all of that. I would rather read about a car that the owner/builder spent the amount of time they did on the looks, on the tune and setup instead. Sure building a show-like quality car takes a lot of time and money, etc. But I personally would rather read about cars that the builder put the time and frustration into tuning the car itself – suspension, air/fuel layouts, chassis, tweaking things and making one-off modifications just to get the car that much closer to perfection [in their eyes]. I used to be able to say that it was just Honda Tuning leaning that way (publishing mostly show-like quality cars), but now that virus is just spreading.
By no means am I putting down all the people that create these individualistic, custom vehicles. That is great, for sure. But I suppose in my opinion, the perfect car would have at least 80% function applied to it and the rest for aesthetic. Also I think it is better to have more articles like, for example, the turbo one I mentioned above instead of so many reviews of sci-fi influenced wheels, monster-like audio equipment, or even few less bling-bling car features. That way readers that are relatively new to the car scene (and ultimately are somewhat like a clean slate) are actually being educated on something that will help them and to where they can make up their own mind on what to actually DO with the car, instead of throwing trends in their face. Not sure where I am going with this…more like a rant than anything. I guess I should just read Grassroots mag and get the rest of the BMIs that I do not have. Bleh.

Such a nice morning. Went to bed early last night and woke up about 6:15…

62 degrees at 7:00AM. Felt great!

The sun has not completely woken up but it will be a beautiful day.

Best combination…a Spirit and a hot cup of coffee.

Tasty breakfast.
That is it for now…

Hung out at the homie’s house last night, relaxing on the porch like some old men. Had some smokes, couple glasses of red wine, and a glass of St. Brendan’s on the rocks.

As soon as I can I am going to get a sampler box of cigars. Been smoking them here and there lately. Really digging Rocky Patel’s brand and Padron is good too. Puffed a Vegas 5 last night that was really good. Man I wish I had a bottle of chocolate stout for the night.
Saw an EVO XIII yesterday afternoon that looked realllly good and I wanted to get a snap of so I could post it, but I did not have my camera. Sucks, because before I left the house I heavily contemplated bringing it. Oh well.
Welp that is it for today I think.

Got a new notebook, Dell Inspiron 1545. Matte black on outside, gloss black on inside. So slick looking. Really media friendly, with 3 USB ports, SD port, built in cam, and really wide screen. Still getting used to Windows Vista. But so far it is pretty nice. Sorry, not really a fan of Apple.
Here is a snap:

There are a lot of books on my desk, all of which are some of the subjects that I study in my spare time. On any given day, you can find my nose in at least a couple of these (the list consists of, from top to bottom: Oxford Russian Dictionary, the Qur’an, Inazo Nitobe’s “Bushido”, Thomas Cleary’s “Soul of the Samurai”, Noam Chomsky’s “Imperial Ambitions”, Webster’s German Dictionary, Bible, Dr. Edward J. Hoskins’ “A Muslim’s Heart”, a book called “Japanese Verbs & Essentials of Grammar”, Mark Siljander’s “A Deadly Misunderstanding”, Corky Bell’s “Maximum Boost”, and Genki I & II which are my Japanese text books from school):

Also, on my desk is my trusty/pimp Zippo and a pack of American Spirits regulars (I truly dislike smoking anything else):

I must get this when it drops – the Zune HD…my first generation 30GB is still nice, but aging fast and will need to be replaced by this:

I have some resolutions that I want to accomplish/see through with this blog. Now that I have a way to upload pictures from my camera, thanks to the SD port on my computer, I will be able to make posts about cars on the road/in public that catch my attention; going to update about what beers and sake I am consuming at any given time, same with smokes or cigars (which I am starting to delve into)…all of those will be accompanied with pictures and a brief review/write-up.
Well, probably about to watch a couple episodes of Samurai Champloo then go make some coffee and eat some breakfast before then have a smoke over a coffee. I did not intend to pull an all nighter, but oh well – what can I do now?

Got a “Build Your 6″ at Kroger with Kirin Ichiban, Abita Turbodog, Abita Amber, Leinenkugel Sunset Wheat, Optimator Spaten, and Red Hook Copper Hook. Had Abita Amber, Abita Turbodog, and Optimator Spaten. Would have to say the Optimator Spaten was my favourite so far.
Also…Watched the Pianist…incredibly good movie. Loved every bit of it and I am a history nerd so I like stuff from that time period. Uploading the new R35 Hot Version and the FD2 BMI right now, then watching Kagemusha. I will let you know how those are when I get finished with them.
Bye.
Movie collection additions!!

Got all five of these at MovieStop for $52 Y-OHHHH!!!!!!
Still have not gotten around to putting up the pictures from last post. They will eventually be up. Been busy going to the DOL office and then one of my best friends fly in from Brooklyn a few days earlier than I thought so been catching up with him. Have not really had any time to make any good posts, much less even check out the blogs that I routinely read.
Damn this economy sucks.
But this garage rules and I would like to have something like this one day…

Yesss RE Amemiya!
Welp, ’til next time…
